Nurturing Minds and Fostering Literacy

Meet Monica, a dedicated social entrepreneur and the visionary founder of Africa Kids Book Club, a pioneering social enterprise on a mission to cultivate a love for reading among children.

As a passionate educator with a heart for both children and books, Monica has not only created a space for children to explore the enchanting world of literature but also runs a teens’ writing mentorship program and operates a home school study center in the picturesque locale of Nanyuki.

Monica’s commitment to education extends beyond her book club. She actively champions access to quality education for primary school children in Laikipia County through her role as the chair of Wezesha Jamii, a community-based organization devoted to empowering the local community.

Monica’s literary talents shine through her published works, as she has authored two captivating poetry books, “Discover the Real You” and “Chronicles of Life and Love,” both of which offer profound insights and reflections through her poetic lens.

Her academic journey has equipped her with the knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact. Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, a testament to her dedication to understanding and addressing the broader societal issues that impact children and families.

Monica’s tireless efforts in nurturing young minds, fostering literacy, and advancing educational opportunities for the undeserved are a beacon of hope and inspiration. Her contributions to the community and her passion for education are a testament to her unwavering commitment to creating a brighter future for the children of Laikipia County and beyond.
